Pet Project

Over 100 photo variations of the same object. This project was a real challenge because it pushed me to try new things, to think in new ways that I hadn’t before. Each week of photos was a test to see “what now?” or “what if?…”

Overview and objectives | Observe and document the same object 100 times always looking for new ways to make better and more interesting images. Then use the images to produce a themed booklet.

What I learned | I found that when I hit a dead end of what to do that I had to push myself even harder to start getting results. Challenging myself with different mediums and manipulations yielded some interesting results. Some became the favorite images of the class. I learned to not be afraid to take risks, to get dirty and try new things. I played with texture, light, paint etc and found a rewarding experience each time I tried something new. I would do this project again just to open my mind to new possiblities.

Process | Every week I was responsible for uploading 10+ photos for that week. Below is a link to my Flickr photostream where the photos live.
