Circum Typogram

Yeah, I know that reminds you of another not so comfortable word to say in public… Find out how it got to be that way.

Project overview and objectives | Create a typogram. A word that communicates what it means.

What I learned | One of the most valuable lessons of this project was to listen to the voice of experience and to start over when needed. I hit so many dead ends, but was glad that tried again and again to get things right. One of the things that I was graded on eventually was how well I responded to critique and advice from art direction. That was a super valuable lesson. I also learned from my classmates some of the awesome possiblities there can be with typographic solutions.

Process | I started out with an extensive word list and then moved into spider charts.

Next I moved on to sketching ideas out.

And refining them.

When I moved to the computer my ideas were difficult to execute and caused some problems. I began to think of new words.

Then Narrowed it down to two.

Then into the finals with adjustments.

Then to the final at the top of the page.
