not your typical designer – About me

I don’t exactly fit the bill of your typical designer, and I like it that way.
I spent over 5 years in the Customer Service profession before returning for school again. I am a student of Communications, I understand the industry and love it. I am a Husband and a Father with an amazing family,
they keep me very busy and motivated.

Currently I’m a Graphic Designer working and finishing school at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho. My major is in Communications Advertising and my minor is in Graphic Design. I graduate in April, 2010.

I have worked as a designer for the past couple years for a catalog order craft company.

I am currently the President of BYU- Idaho’s AAF Chapter. We are working hard on the 2010 NSAC Case Study competition for State Farm. Our team will be presenting our pitch in April, the competition for District 11 will be in Boise, Idaho this year.

Design Philosophy

Design has opened my eyes to the limitless possibilities and solutions available to the problems in the world around us. I have found that to learn design, one must do design. I used to think that by mastering some computer programs and knowing all the keyboard shortcuts I would be “in”. I have come to learn that good design is much more than that. It is more about having a good idea to center your designs around.
